Dear La Mirada Residents,
My name is Dan Siwak, and I am running for La Mirada City Council. As a U.S. Army Combat Veteran and Sergeant who served in Afghanistan, I have a deep understanding of what it means to protect and serve. I was raised right here in La Mirada, attending Escalona Elementary and graduating from La Mirada High School in 1995. My roots in this community run deep, and I am committed to making our city a safer, stronger place for all of us.
In 1995, I had the honor of participating in the City of La Mirada Youth In Government program, where I served as Sheriff Captain. This experience solidified my passion for public service and laid the foundation for my lifelong commitment to community safety.
Today, I am a proud husband and father of two children. My parents, who are immigrants, instilled in me the values of hard work and dedication. As a first-generation Spanish speaker, I worked my way to earning a B.A. in History from Arizona State University. My career in the Armed Protection Industry, where I work alongside law enforcement and firefighters, has equipped me with the skills and experience to ensure our community remains one of the safest in the county.
In addition to my professional background, I am deeply involved in serving our veterans and community. As the Senior Vice Commander at our local VFW, I have the privilege of advocating for 100% Combat Disabled Veterans like myself. My role on the La Mirada Veteran’s Coordinating Council allows me to help plan important events that bring our community together.
I am proud to be endorsed by the National Latino Peace Officers Association, and I am committed to continuing La Mirada’s tradition of exceptional public safety. My combat-tested leadership will ensure that our community remains secure, which is essential for attracting business investment and fostering economic growth.
I am asking for your vote to join the La Mirada City Council. Together, we can build a brighter, safer future for our community.
